The Aaron Copland Fund for Music is pleased to announce the recipients of the Performance Program grants for the 2023 round. 151 awards totaling $925,000 were made in the areas of both general operating and project support.
The Fund received applications from more than 350 organizations requesting approximately $3.8 million. From these, an independent panel reviewed the applications, discussed their relative merits, and made grantee determinations.
A complete list of grantees is available on the Fund's web site.
In keeping with his lifelong devotion to the music of America, Aaron Copland created the Fund and bequeathed to it a large part of his estate. The Fund’s purpose is to encourage and improve public knowledge of contemporary American music. The Fund has established a Performance Program for performing organizations and presenters, a Recording Program for commercial recording projects, and a Supplemental Program for service organizations and other non-profit institutions that undertake activities that are not covered by one of the other programs.
The next deadline for applications to the Performance Program is June 27, 2024. The grant cycle will open by May 15, 2024.
