The Terms of Use (“Terms”) below are applicable to The Aaron Copland Fund for Music, Inc. (the “Fund”) website, located at www.coplandfund.org (the “Site”). Please read these Terms carefully before using the Site. By accessing or using the Site, you hereby agree to be bound by these Terms, as well as our Privacy Policy. These Terms may be updated by the Fund at any time. Your continued use of the Site after any such modifications shall constitute your acceptance of these Terms as modified.

Services Provided
The Fund’s Grant Application System (“System”) is an online platform designed to facilitate the submission, processing, and management of grant applications. Services provided through the System include, but are not limited to:
- User account creation and management
- Grant application submission and processing
- Document upload and storage
- Application status tracking
- Communication tools between applicants and administrators
- Notification services
The Fund reserves the right to modify, update, or discontinue any aspect of the Services at any time with reasonable notice to users.
User Responsibilities
Users are solely responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and legality of all information and content submitted through the System.
Your username and password are for your personal use only and should be kept confidential. You understand that you are responsible for all use (including any unauthorized use) of your username and password. Notify the Fund immediately if your username or password is lost or stolen, or if you believe there has been unauthorized access to your account.
Users shall not:
- Use the System to submit fraudulent applications or information
- Attempt to circumvent any security measures or access controls
- Interfere with the proper functioning of the System
- Restrict or inhibit others from using the System
- Use automated tools or scripts to access or interact with the System without prior written authorization
- Share account access with unauthorized third parties
You agree that when using this Site, you will not violate or facilitate any violation of any applicable local, state, federal or international law, rule or regulation, or the intellectual property rights or other rights of any person.
Service Availability and Performance
The Fund strives to maintain System availability 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, however, 100% availability is not guaranteed. The Fund reserves the right to temporarily suspend access to the System for maintenance, updates, or security purposes. The Fund does not guarantee that the System will be error-free or uninterrupted and shall not be liable for any Service disruptions, delays, or failures.
Data Management and Security
The Fund implements reasonable security measures to protect user data stored within the System. The Fund retains application data in accordance with its Privacy Policy and applicable data retention laws. We urge you to read the Privacy Policy on the Site, which can be found here.
While the Fund takes reasonable precautions to secure the System, users acknowledge that no data transmission or storage system can be guaranteed as completely secure.
Financial Information Handling
The System collects and stores bank account information and other financial data ("Financial Information") for the purpose of facilitating grant disbursements.
Access to Financial Information is strictly limited to authorized personnel with a legitimate business need. Financial Information will be retained only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, to comply with legal obligations, or as otherwise specified in the Privacy Policy.
In the event of a suspected or confirmed data breach involving Financial Information, the Fund will notify affected users in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
Financial Data Compliance
The collection and processing of Financial Information through the System is subject to all applicable financial regulations and data protection laws. Users providing Financial Information represent and warrant that they have the legal right to disclose such information and authorize its use for the purposes specified in these terms.
The Fund does not sell or rent Financial Information to third parties but may share such information with trusted service providers as necessary to facilitate grant disbursements.
While the Fund implements reasonable security measures to protect Financial Information, users acknowledge that there are inherent risks in transmitting and storing such data electronically, and the Fund cannot guarantee absolute security.
Users are responsible for immediately notifying the Fund of any unauthorized transactions, suspicious activity, or other security concerns related to their Financial Information.
Support Services
The Fund provides technical support for System-related issues during normal business hours as specified on the Site. Support services may include assistance with account access, application submission issues, and general System functionality questions.
While the Fund will answer technical questions about how to use the Fund’s grantmaking software, the Fund does not provide consulting services regarding grant application content, strategy, or likelihood of approval.
Content and Intellectual Property Rights
Content Posted by the Fund
The text, photographs, images, audio and/or audio-visual files and other materials (collectively, the “Content”) posted by the Fund on the Site are subject to copyright, trademark and other applicable laws and are owned by the Fund or licensed to the Fund by third parties.
You may not copy, reproduce, republish, upload, post, frame, transmit, display, modify, prepare derivative works based upon, or distribute in any way the Site or the Content, without permission from the owner of such Content. If you want to know who owns specific Content on the Site, contact us at info@coplandfund.org and we will provide you with that information.
Content Submitted by Applicants
You may not submit Content on the Site, whether as part of an application or for any other purpose, that contains intellectual property owned by any other party or parties (“Third-Party IP”) and that cannot be submitted without the permission of such party or parties. It is your responsibility to determine whether your Content contains Third-Party IP for which permission is required, and, if it does, to obtain such permission prior to submitting that Content.
No Unlawful Activities Permitted
You agree that when using this Site, you will not violate or facilitate any violation of any applicable local, state, federal or international law, rule or regulation, or the intellectual property rights or any other rights of any person. You may not interfere with the functioning of the Site or restrict or inhibit others from using the Site.
Third-Party IP Rights Infringement Claims - Procedure
If you own an interest in Third-Party IP and believe that Content available by means of the Site infringes one or more of your copyrights or any other intellectual property rights in that Third-Party IP (“Third-Party IP Rights”), please notify us by means of an emailed notice (“Infringement Notice”) providing the information described below to the email address listed below. If the Fund takes action in response to an Infringement Notice, it will make a good faith attempt to contact the party that made such Content available by means of the most recent email address, if any, provided by such party to the Fund. Please be advised that you will be liable for damages (including costs and attorneys’ fees) if you materially misrepresent that Content located on or linked-to by the Site is infringing your Third-Party IP Rights. Thus, if you are not sure Content located on or linked-to by the Site infringes your Third-Party IP Rights, you should consider first contacting an attorney.
All Infringement Notices need to include the following:
- An electronic signature of the owner of the copyright or other Third-Party IP Rights, or a person authorized to act on their behalf;
- An identification of the copyright or other Third-Party IP Rights claimed to have been infringed;

International Use
This Site is operated and controlled by the Fund in the United States, and the Fund’s databases are located in the United States. By using this Site, you consent to the transfer of data to, and its storage in, the United States. Governing Law/Forum
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States of America. Any dispute regarding these Terms or your use of the Site shall be resolved solely in the state or federal courts located in New York, New York. You agree to waive trial by jury in any such action.
